Nepal

is a small Himalayan kingdom lying between the world powers China and India. Its name is obviously derived from Sanskrit "nipa" ("at the foot of the mountain") and "alaja" ("a seat") that in all means "The seat at the foot of the mountain". The official name of this country is Nepal Adhiradzja.

About Nepal

Although the area of Nepal takes up only one tenths of the Earth, you can find there subtropical jungles and artic conditions in the Himalayas. It is a country with extreme climatic and geographic differences. The altitude rises from several dozens of metres to incredible 8,000 m. You can also find here eight of fourteen peaks which have become the symbols of Nepal. Even the shape of the flag is a mountain. Nepal is full of romantic countryside, arts, architecture, wild animals, and beautiful panoramic views of Himalayan peaks which take your breath away. There is a Nepalese calendar for dreamers which is contrary to the European one 57 years in advance. Visitors of Nepal are constantly followed by thousands of deities. It is a country which gave Buddha to the world - the greatest apostle of world peace. Ancient times and its culture are mixed with modern one here.

Unbelievable Nepal

Hinduism exists together with Buddhism. It is very hard to find any difference in these religions. The Nepalese are friendly and very nice people. They love meeting with people from all over the world. They treat you to a meal and show you secrets of their country. People do not hurry. On the contrary, they sit in front of their houses and talk with their neighbours. They observe life around them. That is the reason why visitors come back here. They look forward to mountain scenery, constantly smiling people, and fascinating history. Even one visit is enough to sink into its mystery. Nepal is a country of medieval towns where the time has stopped. It is a place where traditions are inherited from generation to generation. Diverse cultures and ethnic groups are mixed here. Also very rich fauna and flora can be found here. The Nepalese government is aware of the beauties of its nature. It has granted request of climbers, conservationists, and workers of diverse international organization and has started to p rotect the nature. Nowadays parks represent various kinds of Nepalese nature.

Ordinary world
The Himalayan dismay by its grandeur. It tempts and fascinates adventures and climbers from all over the world. There are homes of gods on peaks constantly covered with snow. Rivers, which spring highly from mountains, are joined with people's life. After all, life depends on water. Every pilgrim wants to hear legends which are connected with them. If you long for exotic experience, the Himalayan kingdom waits for you.

dívka Low literacy is considered a problem. Only several procent of people are able to read and write. Nepal belongs to the poorest countries in the world. People live on underdeveloped agriculture. Only several ares must be enough for an average Nepalese family. Their barefoot feet reflect their poverty. Only some of them wear wellingtons. Over 80% of the inhabitants try to live on farming and they use primitive tools. Although they work so hard, a smile does not disapper from their faces. The country cannot offer too much for trade, except agriculture crops and mineral resources. Nepal trades especially with China and India. The kingdom was never colonized. It even defeated the British who tried to occupy this area. When Prithvi Narajan won the battle, the British had to acknowledge sovereignty of Nepal. Nowadays the Nepalese national symbol represents soldiers with guns standing on the sides of a temple guarding the Nepalese country. Nepalese soldiers definitely do not miss bravery and they are still recruited b y the British Army. The east of Nepal is celebrated for tea growing. Local climate does not differ from several dozens distant Indian Darjeeling, therefore local tea is of very good quality and it can be easily compared to Indian tea. Rhododendron is a national flower and you can admire it in May. It blossoms beautifully.
